On Tuesday August 14th, EARN hosted a recruitment event for Elections Ottawa in collaboration with Hire Immigrants Ottawa (HIO). Participants could apply to work for Elections Ottawa during the municipal elections that will take place in October 2018.
There were two recruitment sessions held on August 14th, both morning and afternoon sessions were full of interested applicants ready to learn more about the positions from Elections Ottawa staff, Lydia and Krista. On the spot applications were being submitted and it was a great day of networking for jobseekers. Although the duration of the employment is temporary, it is a great way to have jobseekers gain experience and skills throughout their employment tenure, as well as making some extra income.
