On March 29th, EARN in partnership with Algonquin College held events targeted to college staff involved in hiring as well as jobseekers with disabilities from our various Service Provider members. During a lunch & learn with college staff EARN’s Manager of Business Development, Shannon Bruce, provided a presentation on accommodation and inclusive work place environments.
Following the lunch & learn, jobseekers who work with our service provider partners were invited to participate in a speed interview activity. Staff from Algonquin College asked jobseekers interview questions and practiced interview etiquette as if it were a real interview situation.
In addition to the Speed Interview Activity, prior to the event – EARN received job postings from Algonquin College which were shared with registered jobseekers. They were encouraged to apply prior to the event as HR staff were seeking potential candidates as well! It was a great afternoon for both parties.
