On January 17^th, 2019, EARN in partnership with Payments Canada held a learning and networking event for employers and job seekers. The employer group participated in a presentation on accessible and inclusive communication tips. Payments Canada then shared their diversity and inclusion journey, and how important it is to continue pushing forward even if it can feel as though changes are not happening quickly. Finally, Jennie St. Martin shared her employment story and how the supports of EARN and its partners changed her life.

Once the presentations were done, job seekers from EARN’s Service Provider members joined the group to take part in a facilitated networking activity with the employers. Many great connections were made throughout the afternoon.

Initial feedback has been extremely positive. We would like to thank all of the participants for attending as well as Payments Canada for their support and coordination to host a successful event.
