On Wednesday, October 9th, EARN once again had the delightful opportunity to collaborate with Service Provider partner, Agilec, in coordinating a Multi-Sector Career Fair for jobseekers with disabilities and other employment equity groups at their office of Agilec. Many EARN employer partners participated in the Career Fair, as well as employer partners from Agilec.
Over 20 employer partners of both EARN and Agilec attended the Career Fair from various sectors including Retail, Government, Technology, Transportation and more.
Based on feedback from our previous events, this one was divided into three sessions which ensured a better flow of job seekers and created a space conducive to better conversations. The first of the three sessions had a sensory period built in to promote an inclusive and accessible environment for jobseekers who prefer smaller crowds, less noise, and a lower level of lighting. This approach can help prevent anxiety as well as create a more accessible space. We had positive feedback on this approach from both job seekers and employers and will to do it again.
We thank Agilec for inviting EARN to partner on the Multi-Sector Career Fair, and we would like to thank our employer partners who dedicated their time to participate in the fair to meet with a talented and diverse talent pool.
