On Thursday, September 26th, EARN hosted a targeted Recruitment Event Fair with Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) in the afternoon at Ottawa City Hall. ESDC invited over a dozen hiring managers from various departments to meet and collect resumes of potential jobseekers with disabilities. Jobseekers with disabilities were invited to attend this event to learn more about the various opportunities available at ESDC and to submit their resumes.
Over 50 jobseekers attended the two sessions available during the afternoon and met with hiring managers. Managers from the Human Resources, Administration, Finance, Accounting and Technology departments were present, ready and eager to meet with talented jobseekers. Many follow up discussions and interviews were booked on the spot, and in the time since the event some job offers have already been made.
This was a great opportunity for the various departments at ESDC to find a talent pool of fully capable and qualified jobseekers with disabilities. This would not have been possible without the support of EARN’s Service Provider members.
How do jobseekers with disabilities attend EARN’s recruitment events? EARN sends invitation e-mails of upcoming events that are targeted to jobseekers with disabilities to all Service Provider members. Our Service Provider members then circulate the e-mail invitation to interested clients, and register with EARN to confirm registration.
